09:05 | Many competitors have enjoyed a week of training, in good conditions, prior to the start of the event. We are hoping for a memorable championship.
09:02 | Registration day here at the 2010 worlds. There will be an opening ceremony at the event site at 4.00 pm. The organisers have done a fantastic job preparing the race village - all the tents, portacabins and equipment had to be brought out to the lake- less than a week ago there was nothing here!

A couple of important reminders for competitors going to the Worlds in Mendioza. It is a local government bylaw that buoyancy aids must be worn at all times when afloat.
It was also agreed at the 2009 AGM, and reported many times, that sail identification must comply with the ISAF Windsurfing Competition Rules at major championships from 2010 onwards
Finally, if you still have to confirm your accommodation requirements contact Claudia at the nominated agency where she can advise on some good deals for shared room with breakfast.

25th Calema Midwinters coming up ....

From 5th to 7th March Tinho & Susie Dornellas will host the 25th edition of the Calema Midwinters festival of windsurfing. Once again a strong formula fleet will be competing ; many top riders have committed to being there.
Wojtek Brzozowski (POL10) showed up on Feb. 27th after a 5 year absence from the Calema Midwinters.The multi-time champion saw the very promising forecast, packed his gear and got on the plane.
Wojtek: ” This is a very important event for us. With the world championships coming up in Argentina, this is our chance to tune up and find out what is working. The Calema Midwinters is a great event and I am looking forward to meeting all the best guys here next week".
The Midwinters Festival will continue its tradition of bringing together World Cup Pros, Olympic Class Competitors, Beginner sailors and all other levels in between.

Portimao Trophy - NoR now published.....

The 2010 edition of the Portimao Trophy will take place in the Praia da Roche from 1st to 4th April. It is the POR leg of the 2010 Iberian Cup, and is a Level 2 Formula World Ranking event.
This years event will be bigger and better (than before) and offers many benefits to competitors from outside of the Iberian peninsula !
