2005 Formula Windsurfing OCEANIC Championships.
The 2005 season kicks off in style with the Oceanic Championships hosted by Elwood Sailing Club , Melbourne , and organised by Sail Melbourne. In addtition to being a class continental championships the event is a Level 1 Formula World Ranking event , the first 2005 event to be added to the new scheme. Scheduled for 21st to 25 th January it is a great opportunity for formula racers to "test the waters" prior to the Formula Worlds, to be hosted by Sail Melbourne in December 2005.

Sailors should also take the advantage of the "warm up" event preceding the Oceanics-the Victorian FW Championships , at Elwood SC over 19/20th January (a notice of race will follow soon ). Tune up for the continentals and gain some extra ranking points as this is also a Level 3 Formula World Ranking event . (see FW 2005 calendar)

Yellow Pages falls !!!!
Pending WSSRC ratification, the vaunted 11-year record of YP has been broken by Finian Maynard (BVI) with a time of 46.82 knots. The Dutch national record has been broken by Ben van der Steen with an unofficial time of 43.5 knots. Dave White has broken the British national record with an unofficial time of 43 knots.
