The Formula Windsurf Series Portugal 2022 has started today with nothing more, nothing less than the Formula Windsurfing European Championship.
The 2022 season in Portugal will have 3 international fixtures including the Foil Europeans, Formula Fin Continental Cup and Formula Foil Grand Prix all these with the focus of the beautiful locations with special emphasis on the host municipalities.
The European Championship is taking place in the unparalleled Alqueva Lake in Monsaraz.
As it sometimes goes in foiling we are challenged from day one with the conditions and so far we have managed to conduct one race, with the Race Committee needing to abandon the second due to the wind dropping out of foiling range.
It is Fernando Martinez ESP 71, who will go into today as the championship leader with the start being scheduled for 12:00. Let’s hope those attending the tour of the gin distillery will also be able to make it 😉
