There is no doubt that the Formula Windsurfing Class and Polish venues have a long and beautiful history, but the one of Formula Foil and Puck is special. Every time that we are here the venue delivers some spectacular conditions.
It is no different this time around. After cancellation of the 2020 championships, we came back for more this year and have been blessed with sun and 16 – 21 kts on the first day of the event.
The fleet is divided into two groups Youth and Masters with 70 competitors in total. The Masters, although being the smaller of the two, is extremely diverse with competitors coming from 10 countries and 3 continents. The favourites to watch out for are definitely the previous champions Steve Allen (AUS) and Janis Preiss (LAT), but also the Polish contenders Bartłomiej Kwiek and Paweł Dittrich. The two Poles leading after 5 races today.
Over at the Youth’s it looks as if the battle will be fought between the other locals Kamil Manowiecki, Dominik Lewiński and Michał Polak, as they head into day two in that order.
Tomorrow we start racing at 10:00 and you can follow the action on the event website – https://ym2021.formulawindsurfing.org
