From 28th to 30th June 2013 all windsurfing and kite boarding enthusiasts were most welcome to Estonia, Tallinn, Pirita beach. NeilPryde Baltic Cup with its 15 years of experience once again proved their high level of professionalism in organizing the competition that this time host 92 participants from 7 countries. NeilPryde Baltic Cup has grown over the years significantly – last weekend the event brought together also Formula Windsurfing European Cup and Cabrinha Baltic Cup.

For the second year in a row, NeilPryde Baltic Cup had under the big windsurfing regatta 3 different windsurfing classes: Formula, Raceboard and Techno 293, but also Kite Racing was included in the competition.

Tallinn`s Formula Windsurfing European Cup and NeilPryde Baltic Cup competitors were not lucky with the wind – only completing 3 races on the second day. Estonian Martin Ervin (EST 202, NeilPryde/Starboard), recalls races: “Two days of expected wind was so worth it! During the evenings surfing is something quite extreme, especially in our foreign visitors – in the world there is not just a lot of steps that have last race stop at half past ten in the evening. The feeling was great!”

On the 3rd day formula competitors went hopefully to the start line, but after 20 minutes of wind expectations they had to return to the beach with no race started.

Thus, the overall ranking of the competition remained unchanged from day 2:

I) Martin Ervin (EST 202, NeilPryde/Starboard),

2) Valentin Brault (FRA 823, NeilPryde / Starboard),

3) John Kaju (EST 24, Loft/Gaastra).

1st woman – Betti Vainküla (EST 212, NeilPryde/JP),

1st Junior – Karl-Erik Saarm (EST 228, Loft/Gaastra).

NeilPryde Baltic Cup overall after Tallinn event ultimately reduce the difference between the ranking scores. Before the final stage in Latvia the overall ranking is: 1-st Janis Preiss (LAT 23, Gaastra/Gaastra), 2-nd with only 3 point difference Martin Ervin (EST 202, NeilPryde/Starboard) and the third Filip Korczycki (POL 555, Severne/Starboard).

NeilPryde Baltic Cup, Tallinn; competition organizer Erno Kaasik: “I`m pleased to say that series started 15 years ago has gained its capacity over the years. Our goal has always been to provide outputs especially for young Estonian windsurfers to prepare them for the international windsurfing competitions. The fact that today we have 3 different windsurfing classes + kite race at the stage is uplifting. Respect and great thanks for that to our management team and sponsors! And of course – the best greetings to all our competitors! Hopefully you had fun and enjoyed your stay in Tallinn. Hope to see you again!”
