May 15th was registration and preparation day, but unfortunately there was not enough wind to allow the racers to practice on the water. Those that arrived a day earlier were able to get on the water – and for some it was the first real chance to test their new equipment. The wind forecast looks “challenging” for the next two days – with strong onshore winds in prospect. As you would expect on Sylt there is a huge presence of tents and stalls supplying food , bier , clothing & accessories; and plenty of public visiting the event site.
