Third day…

As we all arrived up at lake Potrerillos, we could feel it was going to be a cold day.

The wind was blowing early, but around noon it backed of a bit and we were on hold until 1pm, by 1:30pm we started the first race.

We did 3 races with winds ranging from 7 to 21 knots, it was a gusty day and staying in the wind and shifts was the key.

After the first race, it was painful on the fingers as the circulation started getting back to them when we got warm back on land. But it got warmer and it turned out to be nice on the next two race.

Most of the sailors went with 11s.

On the first race I managed to take the lead and win the race after having a close battle with Paulo and the young Mateus Isaac who had a great race to finish third, yesterday he also lead on the downwind in one of the race, showing that he is one of the young generations that is coming up strong, Gonzalo got caught on some light winds patch and bad shifts and lost his first race after winning all 8 races up to this one.

Second race everyone had a good start, but on the first tack, Gonzalo broke his mast, followed by Mathias pinheiro as well, I lead the race until the last downwind, but Paulo past me on the last jibe mark going to the finish to take the bullet by a few meters.Third was Nahuel, who is sailing very consistent and is often fighting on the lead, followed by Mateus Isaac in fourth.

Third race, Paulo changed down to his 10.0, but everyone else stayed with 11s, Gonzalo had a good start and was off like bullet, he just kept opening his lead and took the win with a very big lead, Paulo came second follwed closely by Mathias who went to the port tack side of the course and had a good comeback on the last lap, one of the few sailors on a 12.0.

With 11 races and 3 discards already in place, the plan is two do 3 races tomorrow and 1 on the final day on saturday.

best regards,

Wilhelm
