Start´s today the Lagos Iberian Cup 2011 of Formula Windsurfing from 21 to 24 of April. We have confirmed 39 windsurfers from 6 countries (Portugal, Spain, Estonia, Latvia, Holland and Brasil), for last minute inscription we have Paulo dos Reis (Paulão), was very nice to have this fantastic guy from the world top 5 guys of Formula Windsurfing. The top guys in this event are Paulao, Miguel Martinho (Portugal), Martin Irvin ( Estonia), Ansis Dale (Latvia) Pablo Barrachina and Fernando Martines from Spain.
The first day, was the registration and inscription confirmation, and the skipper´s meeting was at 14h00, with possible start of the first race of the day at 15h00. The weather was not so good, lots of rain, thunders and lightnings, not typical of Algarve, normally sun and hot weather. The CR goes to the water, and the information we have from out side was wind between 20 and 25 knóts, with 1m chopp. We wait to the flag goes down to go to the water, and in the minetime the wind pick up more to 25 to 30 knóts and lots and lots of thunders and lightnings, near of the club and the zone of race. The CR come to shore and we wait in the beach to calm the weather, we wait till 17h00, but still the same the only thing that change was the wind, that drop to 4 or 5 knóts. The CR call finish for this day.
The forecast for tomorrow is better, than today, the wind will change to west or NW, the normal wind in Lagos, between 15 to 22 knós, we hope will be better, tomorrow will be 4 race
