Monday 2/8/11 Miami, FL – It’s awesome that Miami is the gateway to so many places. Because it’s a major hub for so many international flights and distribution, Miami’s often a stop for the windsurfing pros to lay over, pick up gear and sometimes even sail with the locals. Monday was a day when all that came together for a lucky bunch who could take off a few hours in the afternoon to take advantage of a perfect day to sail. Gonzalo Costa Hoevel was in town picking up new gear for the upcoming PWA slalom event in Vietnam and found time to come sail formula with a few of the locals ( Ron Kern, Diego Domeniani, Alex Morales , Marius Tudor,Angelo Vega and now Miami’s new girl Collete Guadanino ), also Juan Pablo Montoya show at the beach to enjoy a great day of sailing and tuning his new formula equipment. The temperature was swimsuit weather even an hour after dark. The wind was a steady 12 – 18 mph straight down Biscayne Bay, not much weed, the man-o-war scourge was over, and the water state was almost flat. How often do you and your buddies get to sail with a pro windsurfer on a perfect day? Come to Miami. Priceless!
