14:30 | AM weather breifing from event sponsor- WIND ALERT (www.iwindsurf.com):

Plain Talk:. Dawn finds faint southerly winds at the ocean buoys with the NW winds are still way offshore. The marine layer clouds have pushed well over the East Bay hills but are not too close to Sherman so it is already windy there. Clearing will be earlier than past days but some clouds will probably still be near the Gate. Overall this is a scenario for upper teens to low 20\\’s strongest from the north tower to Treasure Island to Pt. Isabel to Sherman Island.

Tech Talk: The new Weather Blog has satellite imagery of Cut-Off Low that will shape our wind today and probably tomorrow. The North Pacific High\\’s surface NW winds are still out of the picture and at 18K feet a weak Cut-Off Low and it\\’s counter-clockwise spinning upper level winds create weak southerly over us enhancing the marine layer clouds. The Central Valley thermal low has pulled back from the coast overnight so the SFO-SAC pressure gradient is a moderate -.08. Later this afternoon the surface low retreats more from the coast so a slightly stronger pressure gradient develops and a bit of WNW wind develops at the ocean buoys. This drives the wind at many sites north of Candlestick into the upper teens to low 20\\’s.

Central Bay: Crissy may have too much fog. Weak inside then reaching near 20 mid bay, but stronger out toward North Tower. TI low 20\\’s.
