The 2008 edition of Italian Formula Windsurfing Open Championships will be held in San Cataldo, near Lecce in Puglia, in east southernmost part of Italy. San Cataldo is a seaside resort 10 km. from Lecce. Lecce, ten minutes drive, is one of the wonderful town in Italy, called “The Florence of the South” with a fantastic Baroque architecture made with sculptures of plants and flowers.

All competitors interested to race in San Cataldo are requested to send an email to Italian Windsurfing Classes National Office (mared@fastwebnet.it) within Monday June 2nd.

How to go to San Cataldo:

Travel by car: just before arriving in Lecce you can drive along the bypass road direction Maglie till the exit for San Cataldo. Ten km. after you will arrive at San Cataldo. Here at the last traffic lights you turn right and go on for 200 mt. On the left side you see Lido York the regatta headquarters.

Social program:

Every day: live music and dj on the beach, Radio Manbassa will interview competitors

June 5th, Thursday: dinner with mixed grill on the beach and karaoke with prizes

June 6th, Friday: after the regattas, typical Puglia foods tasting in a masseria (old Puglia farm); follows: Folk Puglia music (Pizzica) concert

June 7th, Saturday: after the regattas, dinner offered by organizers to all competitors in a typical restaurant and, in the night, party near regatta headquarters with live music, concert and dj session.

June 8th, Sunday: prizegiving ceremony with refreshments at Lido York
