After four great days the ALLEGRO.PL CUP in Leba (Poland) finally comes to an end. 30.000,00 EUR prize money made the event to one of the most important stops on the Euro-Cup tour 2007. With 87 competitors from 20 different countries representing four continents the interest from the competitors was overwhelming. On two of the four days it was possible to run windsurfing competitions. A total of three complete slalom eliminations and six racings was sailed in the crystal clear Baltic Sea. Steve Allen (AUS-0, Tabou, Gaastra) was able to win the Racing in front of Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG-3, F2, Neil Pryde) and Alberto Menegatti (ITA-456, F2, North Sails). Arnon Dagan (ISR-1, Fanatic, Neil Pryde) from Israel won the Slalom in front of Ross Williams (GBR-83, Tabou, Gaastra) and Steve Allen.

The six races presented a thrilling head to head fight between the current Formula Windsurfing World Champion Steve Allen from Australia and the Argentinean Gonzalo Costa Hoevel for the victory in the discipline racing. In each race the lead was exchanged between these two racers. In the end the Australian was able to stay in the front and rightfully took the triumph in this discipline. Gonzalo Costa Hoevel had to accept the second place but can be proud about an impressive lead to Alberto Menegatti from Italy. The Italian sailed a great final day and was able to pass Ross Williams who defended this place for a long time. Michal Polanowski (POL-16, Starboard, Severne, 29,00 points), Andrea Cucchi (ITA-1, Starboard, Point-7, 30,00 points) and Przemyslaw Miarzcynski (POL-126, Starboard, Neil Pryde, 31,00 points) had a tough head to head fight and are only separated from each other by one point. Already with a bigger distance follow Wojtek Brzozowski (POL-10, Starboard, Severne), Hubert Mokrzycki (POL-25, Tabou, Gaastra) and the Portuguese Champion Miguel Martinho (POR-5, Starboard, Neil Pryde) to complete the top 10.

After struggling in the racing Arnon Dagan presented an extraordinary performance in the discipline slalom. He dominated two of the three eliminations. As the competitors can discard their worst result after three slalom eliminations Arnon can proudly present the optimum of 1,40 points. Ross Williams is second with 4,00 points followed by Steve Allen with 5,00 points. Although the third slalom was a complete catastrophe for Wojtek Brozowski he managed to stay fourth with 8,70 points. Wilhelm Schurmann (BRA-999, Starboard, Neil Pryde) showed a consistent performance and is fifth. On even 9,00 points but with the worse discard follows Gonzalo Costa Hoevel from Argentina. Michal Polanowski is only one point behind on place seven with 10,00 points. Alberto Menegatti, Robby Swift (K-89, JP, Neil Pryde) and Leszek Rutkowski (POL-1, Exocet, Severne) complete the top 10.

Besides the windsurfing competitions a huge program in the water, on land and even in the air called several thousands of spectators to the ALLEGRO.PL CUP. The whole setup was impressive and windsurfing had a perfect platform for this four days in Leba. From here the competitors travel to Switzerland. Next Friday the next stage of the Windsurfing Euro-Cup will kick off with the Engadinwind.com in Silvaplana, St. Moritz.
