+++ Leba (POLAND), August 4th 2007.

The Windsurfing dream at the ALLEGRO.PL CUP continues! On the third day the wind was even better then yesterday. Together with blue sky and bright sunshine this transferred the beach of Leba into a windsurfing arena. Two complete slalom eliminations were sailed with a spectacular ³Le Mans² start straight off from the beach. As the conditions remained excellent the discipline was changed and another two Formula Races were run.

In the first Slalom elimination the Polish Windsurfing hero Wojtek Brzozowski (POL-10, Starboard, Severne) had a spectacular ³killer start² which caused some discussions among the racers. He took advantage of this early lead and dominated the heat without further problems. Steve Allen (AUS-0, Tabou, Gaastra) followed on the second place with Wilhelm Schurmann (BRA-999, Starboard, Neil Pryde) from Brasil on his heals. Ross Williams (GBR-83, Tabou, Gaastra) and Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG-3, F2, Neil Pryde) completed the top five.

In the second slalom Arnon Dagan (ISR-1, Fanatic, Neil Pryde) stroke back. Although Ross Williams had the better start the racer from Israel accelerated with virtually ³nuclear speed² and managed to pass the British hotshot at the first mark. Steve Allen confirmed his performance also in the discipline slalom with a third place. Robby Swift (K-89) surprised the experts with his increasing performance in the Euro-Cup. Michal Polanowski (POL-16, Starboard, Severne) was able to score a fifth place as best local racer in this heat.

As the wind got a little bit lighter race director Bruno de Wannemaeker changed the discipline and ran another two races. And the ping-pong-game for the racing lead between Steve Allen and Gonzalo Costa Hoevel continued: In race 5 it was again Gonzos turn. With a bullet he gained back the lead in the provisional racing results which he lost to the current World Champion

in the last race yesterday. Steve Allen scored a strong second place but it was not enough to keep the Argentinean behind him. The third place went to Michal Polanowski. Ross Williams was able to defend the fourth place against Alberto Menegatti (ITA-456, F2, North Sails) from Italy.

Another final race pushed the competitors to their physical limits. And as if somebody would write the perfect thriller it was again Steve Allens turn. He fully dominated this race and won not only with a huge lead but also gained back the lead in the discipline racing. The Italian Youngster Alberto Menegatti was able to score the best result in this competition so far and got second. Gonzalo Costa Hoevel kept the contact to the lead with a third place. Andrea Cucchi scored a fourth place in front of Hubert Mokrzycki (POL-25, Tabou, Gaastra).

After six races we have a thrilling head to head fight between Steve Allen and Gonzalo Costa Hoevel for the victory in the discipline racing. At the moment Steve is in the front with 6.1 points. But well in striking distance only two points behind with 8.10 points is his Argentinean opponent. Five competitors have a realistic chance for the remaining place on the podium:

The best position has Alberto Menegatti who showed a strong performance today and is currently third with 21.00 points. Today he was able to pass Ross Williams to kick him on the fourth place with 25,00 points. Michal Polanowski (29,00 points), Andrea Cucchi (30,00 points) and Przemyslaw Miarzcynski have a tough head to head fight and are currently only separated by one point among each other.Alread with a bigger distance follow Wojtek Brzozowski, Hubert Mokrzycki and the Portuguese Champion Miguel Martinho to complete the top 10.

Together with the competitions from yesterday we have a total of three slalom eliminations which give the first discard in the discipline slalom. In the provisional slalom results Arnon Dagan is leading with the optimum of 1,40 points. Ross Williams is second with 4,00 points followed by Steve Allen with 5,00 points. Although the third slalom was a complete catastrophe for Wojtek Brozowski he managed to stay fourth with 8,70 points. Wilhelm Schurmann showed a consistent performance and is currently fifth. On even 9,00 points but with the worse discard follows Gonzalo Costa Hoevel from Argentina. Michal Polanowski is only one point behind on place seven with 10,00 points. Alberto Menegatti, Robby Swift and Leszek Rutkowski complete the top 10.
