After almost two days of waiting the wind finally kicked in at the ALLEGRO.PL CUP. Just in time to complete one race the wind reached the

necessary limit at 18:00. In 8 to 10 knots the only race of the day was sailed. Michal Polanowski (POL-16, Starboard, Naish Sails) was able to take advantage of his intensive RS-X training program. In the low wind conditions he was able to plane earlier and point higher and therefore dominated the race. On the second placed followed another light wind expert: Arnon Dagan (ISR-1, Fanatic, Neil Pryde) from Israel is famous for his abilities to use already the lightest breeze. The third place went to Steve Allen (AUS-0, Tabou, Gaastra) from Australia, the Formula Windsurfing World Champion of 2003.

Ross Williams (GBR-83, Tabou Gaastra) and Miguel Martinho (POR-5, Starboard, Neil Pryde) had a tough fight for the fourth position. Twice the order changed but in the end it was the British hotshot who was able to dominate over his Portuguese rival. On the sixth place followed Przemyslaw Miarczynski (POL-126, F2, Naish Sails). The big favourite Antoine Albeau had significant problems with the light wind and ended up on the seventh place with the best Polish youngster Leszek Rutkowski (POL-220, Starboard, Neil Pryde) on his heals. Jaroslaw Miarczynski (POL-127, F2, Naish Sails) and Hubert Mokrzycki (POL-25, Starboard, Gaastra) complete the top 10 after the

first day of official competition.

For the next days the conditions should improve and we look forward to more spectacular competitions on the Baltic Sea. The ALLEGRO.PL CUP will last until Sunday, August 13th.
