we arrived at the beach this morning to see no wind as forecasted. so we spent most of the day just relaxing on the beach waiting for some wind that was forecasted to pick up in the late afternoon.
at 4:30 there was a little wind off the beach so we ran a fun race. with four reaches just off the beach with a couple duck jibes at mark 1. i led for the first half but found a good hole and didnt plane again.
the wind continued to come up and at 6:15pm they set a course with the windward mark just off the beach in a very gusty and shifty spot. the wind shifted quite a bit to the left just before the start and everyone went for port tack start. as we were starting near the pin end one lone starboard tacker came through from well below the line, and i had to head down hard at the last second and bumped into the back of Davide as there was no room between him and the starboard tacker. so this forced me well below the fleet. i rounded very deep. while Ross rounded well ahead with Finian and Andrea behind. Ross took a big lead. while I got deeper as i tacked up the inside on the second windward just to try for something. I finished very deep with some really bad luck and Finian won as Ross sailed the wrong course and finished 10th. Wilhelm took 2nd with jacob 3rd and Gonzalo 4th.
the wind forecast looks the same for tomorrow so we will be getting a later start at 12. but the forecast is looking good for the weekend, so im hoping for a bunch more races.
