The second day of the Formula Windsurfing Grand Prix Rhodes brought again perfect competitions for the formula racers. The wind was a little bit lighter then on the opening day. But the 10 to 15 knots of sideshore wind enabled the race committee to run another 4 spectacular races. Again the finish was directly at the beach so that the spectators were able to follow the whole action.

The first race of the day was won by Jamie Lever (GBR-5, Starboard, Windwing) from Great Britain in front of Marco Begalli (ITA-415, Starboard, Neil Pryde) from Italy and the leader of the event Ross Williams (GBR-83, Starboard, Gaastra). In the second race the Italian Champion Andrea Cucchi (ITA-1, Starboard, Neil Pryde) was able to dominate. The Italian Master Marco Begalli managed again to defend a sensational second place with Arnon Dagan (ISR-1, Fanatic, Neil Pryde) from Israel on his heals. In the third race Arnon Dagan was finally able to score his first bullet in the regatta while the British hot shot Ross Williams followed in second position. The third place went to Jamie Lever. In the final race of the day Jamie Lever dominated in front of Devon Boulon (ISV-1, F2, Windwing) and “Italian Stallion” Andrea Cucchi.

After the second day and eight races with two discards Ross Williams is still in the lead with 10,1 points. But his opponents are closing up. The toughest of them is still Andrea Cucchi with 15,7 points. Devon Boulon has confirmed his third position in front of his team mate Jamie Lever (23,4 points) who had a brilliant day. The Top-5 are completed by Arnon Dagan from Israel with 26,7 points.

Tomorrow is the final day of the Formula Windsurfing Grand Prix Rhodes. Another three races are scheduled for the racers to achieve the third discard.
