For the first day of competition here in Melbourne we had wind gusting from 25 – 40 knots, so they were unable to start racing although Jesper and I made it out for some training. Jesper had the new 9.8m Gaastra while I took out the new 10.6m RS4 as I didn’t have the new 9.8m. I was very surprised along with everyone on the beach how incredibly stable this new sail was to be able to sail controlled and fast in this wind.
Then in the evening Elwood sailing club put on a big Ausy barbeque for all the sailors to get the energy up for tomorrows great for-cast for loads of racing with 15 – 20 knots of wind.
