We arrived in the morning at Monday the 4th of August in Leba.

The weather was nice, but there wasn’t any wind.

A couple of sailors who stayed already some more days told us that they didn’t had any wind for the last 10 days already, so it wasn’t really promising.

The next day we arrived early at the beach.

This time wind had a nice onshore breese.

First we did the registration, put all the stickers in my sail.

I went to the beach to put all my equipment on the beach.

After I rigged up, my beautiful 11.0 blowed up on the beach.

All the weels for downholding the sail exploded out.

I could borrow Pieters new 11.0, so I was really happy about that.

Later on I did some runs with Arnon, Antoine and Finian to tune my sail.

The feeling was alright and I was going good.

Organized everything had a good meal and went to bed early.

The next day wake up early and went together with Pieter to the beach.

There was no wind at all and it wasn’t looking good for the rest of the day.

Later on the wind picked up a little and the sended us out.

There were 94 people on the starting line.

I coundn’t believe how crouded it was.

We did 3 general recall starts and only 1 I did good.

I was a mission to go over because a lot of guys didn’t plane on the startline.

The 4th start was good but I got screwed on the line.

The wind was so light that I stopt planning on the downwind.

I got a 32nd place that race,

I wasn’t happy about that.

It was the first and the last race for that day.

The next morning was looking really good.

We had a really nice breeze from the right.

But the later it got the more the wind dropped.

At the skeepersmeeting at 10 we had only still 8 to 10 knots left.

The first and the second race I was up there.

I ended up 9th and 10th.

The 3th race I had the best start from the hole fleet.

I was 4th at the up and downwind buoy.

The second upwind I made a big mistake.

I didn’t sail my own race.

I was following the group in front and that didn’t worked out.

I was 9th at the windward, passed Steve and Adri in the downwind.

The last reach was so down, you couldn’t make it in ones.

I jibed at the beach but a little to close and got stuke in the sand.

I was so pissed about that, because I lost there many places and ended up 13th.

So that was the 2nd day.

The 3th day.

There was no wind and the expect nothing,

The news spoke about the hottest day that year.

So I played a little bit of beach volleyball, was really a lot of fun.

The next morning I wake up and there wasn’t really a lot of wind.

We checked the internet the day after and was looking really good.

They expected 10 to 15 knots onshore.

We went to beach and was ok.

The wind was 10 knots and picking up.

Just before the 1st race they messured 13 to 17 knots.

I had a really hard time in the water.

It was choppy and pretty windy.

I haven’t sail all year in conditions like this.

A big punishment for me.

My results that were pretty constant.

The 1st race I had a 24th , the 2nd a 22nd the 3th a 38th and the 4th a 25th .

The 3th race I could discard, so that was positive.

So it’s for sure that I have to make more hours on the water with wind.

But this year I didn’t had the chance yet.

So I was not really disappointed about it.

My final result is 22nd and 4th Espoir.

So I gonna make myself ready for the next race.

That will be Sylt I think.

I think I can’t make Paros financial

I keep you updated.

Greetings Roy
