What an event, we had a very slow first couple of days as the wind wasn’t cooperating and the race committee was still learning. The first and only race we had in the first two days had a lot of complications from general recalls to timing to scoring. There was talk about throwing it out but I am not sure if they have decided yet, I would be happy if they did but I am biased. Yesterday that got it right though, it is very hard with the many different levels of ability here to get a good clean start so there was still a lot of general recalls yesterday but we also had four very good races. It was impressive to see the race committee turn it around so well in one day, despite the mistake they made in calling me over early in the second race yesterday.

For me the racing has been very up and down, I don’t really like racing in this cold weather but I am getting more and more used to it as the days go on. The forecast doesn’t look so good for the next two days for wind, but I am hoping that I can improve on my current placing as my speed seems to be getting better. The results for everyone have been all over the board so a lot could happen with a few more races and another throw out.

Regards,

Micah
