Very well run races and well set courses with a very high level of competition every one seemed to really enjoy themselves.
It was bad for me today. After so testing the past days I got really distracted on the my racing skills. I got two terrible starts failling into the water. Come back in one of them to be fourth at the top mark but missed the for 10 cm and fall. I got a nice 2nd place on the second race and was leading the last one but after losing a couple of positions because some little mistake. I made the biggest mistake going into the lake on the last upwind and got to 10 position. Hope tomorrow is better and I get more focuss…

I as an ex-racer felt great to see all my friends out there competing with each others in great conditions here in Lake Garda. One day I’ll be back there giving a hard time for my friends.
I feel really great after first day of Euro-Cup Malcesine. First of all I was surprised by the weather. I expected not more than 17 degrees and cold water. We have about 25 degrees and really warm water. It’s very nice.
I was little scared about the first day of competition because we didn’t have the wind.
Fortunately the nice southern breeze picked up around 12:00 and gave us perfect conditions for four spectacular races. First three races were sailed without a break with perfect conditions and wind between 10 and 18 knots. I was so exciting for me to have three great starts and three wins at the beginning of competition. My new Starboard/Neilpryde equipment worked perfectly and I managed to sail without any mistakes. After a short break we were sent into the fourth race. After very bad start I had to chase many competitors. I managed to move from 30th to 6th position at the upwind mark, but it cost me too much. After that I made two mistakes and finally finished 10th in the last race. After first day I feel really great and I’m looking forward for another exciting races at Euro-Cup Malcesine.

So we are already after 4 races. Day started pretty innocent with light wind and very fast was getting stronger.
For the first race most of the guys were using 12.5s but it was a little bit hard with it, so next race we were mostly using 11.0. We had really nice conditions in first 3 races today. In 4th race wind was more less gone…we were struggling to move on with 11 meter sails. Some lucky bastards:) took their 12.5 and didn’t have hard time. Anyway wind was very tricky and it was difficult to be in right place on right time. No rules for wind shifts here.

The first event where really every one showed up and seems ready.
Waited a little for the wind, when the race director sent us out it was light and I doubted the decision. By the time we started the wind was a perfect 12 to 16 knots. Seems like every one is ready to race.
Everything went smooth. Had four solid races where from the last one was a little light.
4 races on the first day of the event is good start and may we hope we’ll have many more.
