Eastbourne turned on the conditions for some epic course racing in superbly steady SW winds. Two course races were held in winds around 18-23 knots. Many competitors changed down to 9.8’s, 9.0’s and smaller for the second race. The fleet was closely packed today creating some great duels for positions where single mistakes cost many places. With racing so close to shore, spectators were buzzing as they viewed the action.
A slalom course was set, and 2 of 3 heats of slalom were raced before the wind slowly died, causing that race to be abandoned.
Results will be online after the final day tomorrow.
The forecast is looking good, with Northerlies rising to 25 knot tomorrow morning and slowly easing in the afternoon.
