4) Financial Statement
2018 Accounts will be published soon. 2018 was a challenging year; 2019 has improved; and the future looks good.
5) Class Rule changes
(a) Proposal – to permit the use of 2 fuselage for Foil Racing.
APPROVED – 16 YES.
(b) Proposal – to limit competitors in Foil racing to registering sails of maximum 10.00sqm in area.
NOT APPROVED -8 YES; 8 NO.
(c) Proposal – to amend the Sail Identification rule to permit the application of sail letters/ numbers as “white graphics on a black background.”
APPROVED – 14 YES; 2 NO.
6) Production Board Registration
(a) To approve the updated Production Board Registration Instructions.
APPROVED – 16 YES.
7) Championship Rules
(a) To discus the development of Championship (event) Rules for Foil racing; and authorise the Committee to publish for 2020.
APPROVED – 14 YES; 2 Abstention.
NOTE – A report will follow on the FW Class website.
8) Future Championships
Discussions were “ongoing” for 2020 championships.
Concluding event contracts is becoming harder; prize funds is an issue.
9) Any other business
(a) IFWC and IFCA – development of foiling competition.
Windsurf Foiling competitions from 2020 onwards will be under Formula
Foil, a division of IFWC.
It will be a development supported by both IFWC and IFCA.
(b) It was agreed that the IFWC present a proposal to World Sailing for Formula Foil at the 2024 Olympics.
