The regatta will take place in Sopot 11th to 15th of June this year and the organisers have already launched the countdown with a press conference yesterday.
Apart from representatives of the city of Sopot and event sponsor ERGO Hestia sport journalists had the opportunity to talk to Paweł Tarnowski, a RS:X multi-medalist, ready to test his skills in FWC this year.
Versatility is good for everybody and that is why I decided to take part in this championship – Paweł said. The last time I sailed FWC was three years ago, but I look forward to this start as it is an opportunity to sail at my home club, which I don’t get to do too often. He added.
Following Sopot the windsurfers will go to Liepaja, Latvia and Gallipoli, Italy for the next parts of the series. Each event with has a prize fund of 2500 Euro, from which at least 6000 will be allocated to a series prize fund.
No event can be discarded from the overall so it is definitely worth competing in all three venues. If you’d like to learn more please check out the general rules of the European Championships, which are now published on the notice board. http://sopoteuropeans2017.formulawindsurfing.org/notice-board
The event trailer and poster for Sopot is now published too.
