Coming up are the US Windsurfing Nationals August 12-14, 2015 with scheduled racing Wednesday through Friday. Host and organizers Xavier Ferlet and his wife Lyra have done a great job so far of organizing the event at one of the premier US windsurfing spots which has demonstrated over many years consistent winds, great conditions for racing a variety of classes including this year Formula, Kona, Division II, Raceboard, Slalom, Speed, Freestyle and Fun categories, combined with Xavier’s high level of enthusiasm in doing so. Event websites are up with details and more information about one of the top events being held in the US.

Combine this event with being a great location for sightseeing and vacationing, Los Angeles, home to Hollywood and more, it’s hard to beat. Los Angeles is a great starting point or destination for outstanding touristic adventures to some of the top places in the USA to see and do. Other destinations by car: famous windsurfing spots San Francisco (6 hours), the Columbia River Gorge (15 hours) are within reach as are iconic destinations like Yosemite National Park (6 hours) and Sequoia National Park, (7.5 hours) along with seven other National Parks. California has the most in the US totaling nine. Add in national forest parks, reserves, state parks, county parks, city parks, and you would be busy for a long time!
Six Floridians have committed already to attending and will be traveling 2,700 miles to the event to be joined by the west coast contingent. It should be worthy and fun.
