Finally the Campofrio Alqueva 2014 comes to an end.
It was one of the best Championship´s that was organized in Portugal, we have everything, wind, fun, security, fantastic sight seen, good food, course very near the restaurant good view of the event for everyone and much much more.
We had 37 inscriptions and 6 countries (Portugal, Spain, France, Italy, Lituania and Estonia), in this event we had a complete different racing guys, from the Top of the World (Valentin, Marco Begalli and Miguel Martinho) till some guys that was the first time they did a formula racing event. This is the good of Alqueva, with that natural conditions we could have all the level of windsurfers, and not only the top guys. Formula Windsurfing was made for everyone, and if the event´s are made in this kind of places is very easy to have lots of people.
In this event we had a very good press cover, from websites, Facebook, newspapers, magazines, and lots of people are talking about this first event of the year in Europe, I think this place have the fantastic conditions to have big international events.
Regarding race, in the 4 days we had almost every wind on the race course, between 30 knots to 10 knots, the schedule forecast was 15 races, and we made 13, is very good. In the first two days we had very strong winds, with lots of gusts between 16 knost to almost 30, very difficult conditions for everyone, for that in the first day we only made two races, also because we start the races late, to see if the wind to be more constant and lower the intensity.
In the second day was almost the same, strong winds with guts but we made 4 races, two race back to back and other 2 races back to back. The conditions were so good that we could made 45 min rest between the second and the third race, was good for everyone eat and relax.
The third and the four day was less wind in the races, the third day start´s with lots of wind, but was with lots of gusts, and shift wind, the Jury prefere wait a little, and was a fantastic decition, the wind a little less and more constant, also we made 4 races.
In the last and final day, the wind was very little, but everyone compete, and we made 3 races in the last day.
The all championship was won by Miguel Martinho, in 13 races he won 10, fantastic Miguel, starting good the season.
Many thanks for all competitors that come to our event, beginning with the Portuguese, our Formula Windsurfing fleet are starting growing with 20 portugueses competing in this event, and also a big thanks to the foreign people that could come to participate in our event.

Next year we will have the same event, we are starting to prepare everything to be a better than this year. The event will take place in the beginning of April 2015.
