Dear international competitors, herewith we invite you to the INTERNATIONAL German Championships which will take place in Westerland on Sylt from July 24th to 28th. For the first time the event is officially an INTERNATIONAL German Championship. This means that you are not only allowed to participate as a guest like numerous competitors did already in the past but now you can win the official title “International German Champion”. On top of that the result of the discipline Racing counts for the Formula Windsurfing European Cup. The total event is called “Volvo Surf Cup presented by Flens” and takes place annually in the last full week of July.
There is no prize money available at this event. But you can be sure that a trip to Germanys most prestigious national (sorry, now even international) event is worth all the efforts. Nowhere you can expect as many spectators as on Sylt. Last year we had 120.000 people who followed the competition and created an impressive atmosphere. The setup of the event is impressive and matches the PWA Worldcup which takes place at the same venue in September every year. With Volvocars, the Flensburger brewery, Chiemsee fashion, Panasonic and Rollei actioncams besides numerous other sponsors the event leaves a great impression at visitors and participants. It is absolute peak season and Sylt is crowded with ten-thousands of tourists. The party scene on Sylt is infamous.The event, the regatta and the parties will make the Volvo Surf Cup presented by Flens a memorable experience. Numerous of international riders have experienced the event already and return every year.

The event is featuring the three disciplines Racing (Formula Windsurfing), Slalom and Waveriding. Competitors from foreign countries may participate in all three disciplines. It is up to you if you register for all disciplines or compete in one or two of them. An overall ranking of two out of three disciplines is honoring those riders who take the effort to compete in more disciplines. The official titles are granted for the three disciplines and the overall ranking.
The number of starting slots is limited to 100 for Racing and Slalom and 40 for Wave. Attention! 70% of the starting slots are reserved for German riders. So make sure to register asap to ensure your starting slot in this great event! The entry fee is only EUR 60,-. Youth (U20) and women pay only EUR 30,-
