Day one for racing: dawned with a beautiful sunrise; late breakfast (this is Spain!); functional skippers meeting ; fabulous lunch for competitors ; 2 races delivered by an excellent race committee; a fabulous sunset, followed by an excellent dinner !

The wind forecast was not good, and at 15.00 most racers were ready to .. sleep off a great lunch provided by hosts Timon de Roche.

No chance – the wind was picking up …as expected … as predicted .. by the local advisors to Race officer, Cesar Sans. For those of you not in Santa Pola in 2009, Cesar was PRO at one of the best events (EVER) on fw calendar. So … no problem , if there is wind – we race !

Cesar was first to say – “I am ready for more – your rules are prohibiting more racing .. “

Maybe we will change the championship rules – the Class AGM is moved to Wednesday evening … be there or send your email vote.

For today – 2 ties in the top 5 – it is going to be a close run race to the end!

All starters, in both races, finished. The fleet included top racers from FW- plus masters , youths and women , some new to formula.
