Apologies for the delay in publishing the minutes – but it was considered necessary to discus within committee some of the implications of the decisions taken.

The committee have begun that process but there is still more work to be done.

It is specifically the class rule changes that are taking time to digest – and there is concern amongst some of the committee members regarding major changes being actioned on such a slim majority ; and based on a relatively small voting mandate.

Progress reports will be published regularly, but in the meantime we welcome your comments.

Many have commented on the forum , but could you also email your thoughts to – fw@internationalwindsurfing.com

We hope that all member national associations discus the class rule changes and forward the opinions of the majority of their members to me by 31st August .

We have a new committee which includes many old faces , but also some new ones.

We welcome Guido Verlaeckt, from Belgium , who many of you already know through his work as a Class Measurer. Guido will be doing the job for us in Liepaja at the Europeans.

The committee also co-opted Francesco Zarbo, Italian master, who many of you know as a fellow competitor and fanatic formula supporter.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic member of the fairer sex to represent women on the committee.

Finally, for this report, there were no nominations for Chairman, therefore the AGM could not vote on the topic . Your committee has chosen me to continue as chairman- how could i refuse!
