The Lagos Iberian Cup 2011, for Formula Windsurfing and including Pan and Copa de Espanha, starts this week on the 21 of April, in the city of Lagos in the south of Portugal. Is a well known city because is a very typical and old Portuguese city, and also known as the city with a fantastic beach (beach of meia praia) and fantastic winds for windsurfing. It has been a long time since this city and the local organizer (Clube de Vela de Lagos) organized a great windsurfing competition – back in the days of Lechner !.
The pre-inscriptions closed on 15th of April and we already have entered for this event 40 Windsurfer´s (Masters, Seniors, Woman and Youth, representing 5 countries (Portugal, Spain, Holland, Estonia and Latvia). The forecast for this event is good, two days with strong wind for big guys, and two day´s with light wind for lighter guys, the weather is not so good, till now we hat days with 28 degrees and water in the 20 degrees, but for the next days the temperature drop till 20 degrees and the water till 18 degrees. Lets see if the forecast is correct. The inscriptions are not yet closed – if anyone wants to come to this great Championship you only have to pay inscription of 50 euros. When the event starts we will have every day reports, with pictures and results, see you on the 21 of April.
