The 2009 AGM in Santa Pola approved some signifiicant changes to the world Ranking System.
Here is the relevant extract from AGM minutes:
It was agreed that the current “continuous” ranking system be changed to an annual ranking system.
The following “friendly amendments” were accepted by the meeting-
· The annual ranking begin with the World Championship.
· All sailors from the previous ranking to be added to the new ranking.
· That Continental Championships with prize money and Grand Prix events with of prize money greater than the minimum be weighted with factor 1.7
