One month, 4 competition, 32 races, about 100 gybes, nearly 1000km of driving, 3000 flight, and………a lot of fun!!! that was our wonderful trip.

Sarah Hebert: When I took a plane in Paris the plan was to join Marta in Gdansk for one month compiting and training together. As we are good friends we always enjoy to sail with each other.

Marta Hlavaty: I picked up Sarah 22nd July at Gdansk airport, we spent one night in Sopot and went straight to Pobierowo for Polish FW Nationals (Euro Challeger).

Sarah : At the arrival susprise was strong wind. Our first launching with Marta was great. Short but intense sailing, suddenly storm came, Marta is scared of thunder storm as in Poland they can turn very fast to something dengerous. Finally this competition offered a great fight on the water of two friends in various kind of wind. I was flying in strong wind and Marta was killing me in light one. Event finished very good for us. I’m took 2nd place and Marta 1th.

Marta : Next stop is Łeba… showes up as massive, great organized show, casue apart from sailing the ambience of this competition is splendid. Rivalry ran in several weather conditions, strong and light wind onshore and ofshore, flat water and wavy. And one more time Sarah is sailing excelent in more than 20knt, and me under. Finally I’m finishing first and Sarah second. As always Łeba is gorgeous place for windsurfing. Gaining some new, great experience on the course after one day rest we are moving to Sopot for FW Europeans.

Sarah : Sopot is going to be really light. Marta is having a good racing and I’m doing some bad starts on this regatta. With consistant improving every day, finally I climbed at 3rd, Marta is winning European Championship in FW!!!

Marta : Next action is Turkey, PWA Slalom event. After rushy repacking the car from Formula to Slalom gear we set off to Warsaw airport at 4.00 in the morning after 4 our of sleeping. Both we are so happy to grab some small gear instead of 11.0 and 10.0 meter sails. Sarah is performing fantastic in Alacati. With super speed and very consistant sailing she finishes this competition at 3rd place, with only one point loss to 2nd Sarah Quita Offringa. For me that was hard to keep 100% focused after those 3 Formula events. I think I still have to wait my days in SlaloMarta :) I’m happy about my 7th place.

Sarah :This one month of compiting was full of fantastic moments, sharing our passion with friends! Enjoying this windsurfing lifestyle that we love. We are now training for the worlds who will takes place in Santa Pala in Spain, Marta in Poland and Me in France!!”
