Windsurfing Euro-Challenger 2009 starts today in Pobierowo,Rewel, Poland with the registration of competitors. Many sailors have already arrived in the town and have been training – including a 7 strong team from Brazil, a GBR contingent and aussie Sean O’Brien. The Euro -Challenger begins a series of events in Poland with Allegro Cup Leba and Sopot European Championships following on.
Pobierowo is the most popular seaside resort on the West Coast of Baltic situated in the midst of birch and pine woods, it is the largest resort in Rewal Community. The attraction of Pobierowo is its spacious beach, which is great place for sunbathing in the summer and also for walking during the whole year. The length of this resort is about 4km and its centre is Grunwaldzka Street running parallel with the sea. Pobierowo is unseen from the road, it is necessary to drive through the wood to get into the centre of this unusual locality. Pobierowo is a dynamically developing place, but still keeps its specific character thanks to private investors.
Pobierowo is also a great windsurfing venue and held a very successful first internationalevent in 2008; it is sure not to dissapoint in 2009 !
