With 63 competitors from Europe, and the Americas, the 2nd leg of the Formula Windsurfing Grand Prix held in Sopot Poland from June 4th- 7th was regarded by all as ‘a great success.’

The host club – SKZ Hestia located on the beach front town of Sopot on the Baltic Sea – organized a superb regatta with 8 races over 4 days.

Generally, racers found themselves confronted with light winds and a steep chop for close racing held in front of the Sopot Pier.

Steve Allen, AUS-0, from Australia walked away as the winner closely trailed by ARG-3 Gonzalo Costa Hoevel in 2nd and DEN-111 Jesper Vesterstrom in 3rd.

Debuting in its 2nd event this season, womens winner, AUS 911- Allision Shreeve showcased the proposed Formula One Design concept.

The new class is being proposed as an alternate to the hybrid RSX class for the 2012 Olympics.
