Germanys windsurfing elite celebrated a perfect opening event at the German Windsurf Cup Steinhuder Meer. In perfect conditions of up to 5 Bft a total of seven races was sailed. Bernd Flessner (GER-16, F2, Neil Pryde), the 11th time German Champion from the island Norderney was able to win the event.

In the result list Flessner scores the optimum of 5,0 points and is leading clearly in front of his biggest opponent Helge Wilkens (GER-63, Lorch, Gun Sails) from Hannover. The Youngster Vincent Langer (GER-122, Starboard,

Simmer) from Kiel follows on the third place.

Two young racers drew attention due to their great performance: The sixteen year old DWC-Rookie Sebastion Kördel (GER-220, Lorch, Naish) got stronger and stronger over the event and finished on an excellent seventh place. At

the same age the local Tim Wunderlich (GER-15, Starboard, Severne) was improving significantly as well and finished in the 12th place scoring the best result of his young DWC career.

In three weeks the next German Windsurf Cup will take place in Dranske on Ruegen island.
