Are you aware of the airport shuttle service provided by Sail Melbourne for all sailors competing in the Formula Windsurfing World Championships?
Have you conacted Sail Melbourne to tell them you want them pick you up? – if not – do it now!
Sail Melbourne are offering to pick up sailors from Melbourne’s Tullamarine (International) Airport and transport you and your equipment to Elwood Sailing Club – the host of the Warm Up event and the World Championships. This airport transfer will be done free of charge for event competitors and $10 each way for non competitors.
This service will be provided from Monday December 5th until Saturday December 10th, 2005. Whilst wanting to provide this service to competitors, Sail Melbourne will not meet any and every flight and will run up to three (3) free shuttle runs each day at approximately 9:00 am, 2:00 pm and 10:00 pm.
The exact schedule for these shuttles will be determined once we have received the flight arrival details of competitors via the registration form and will be posted on the Sail Melbourne website at: http://www.sailmelbourne.com.au/events/2 after Monday November 28th, 2005.
ALL SAILORS WANTING TO USE THIS SYSTEM MUST REGISTER WITH SAIL MELBOURNE ON THE OFFICIAL REGISTRATION FORM BEFORE NOVEMBER 25TH, 2005 (registration form available on the Sail Melbourne and IFWCA website)
We greatly encourage sailors to arrive together and unite your arrival times as much as possible. If you have not registered your details by 25th November, 2005 you will miss out!
Sail Melbourne will also be running a return shuttle service from Elwood Sailing Club to the Airport after the Worlds between December 18th and 21st, 2005. The exact details of this will be posted on the event notice board during the World Championships.
Note, equipment may only be stored at Elwood Sailing Club prior to Friday December 9th by prior arrangement with James Rudolph from the Club at: worlds@elwoodsc.com
IF YOU ARE ARRIVING BEFORE MONDAY DECEMBER 5TH you will have to make your own way to the Elwood Sailing Club although we provide the following information to help you.
The following two Airport Shuttle bus companies will take sailors and their equipment to Elwood Sailing Club and/or your accommodation in or near Elwood but you need to contact them and book their service before you arrive. (Note, this is a busy time of year and you are encouraged to book in advance to avoid disappointment.)

Airport Shuttle Express generally takes a booking per person however they are prepared to take a bus of up to 5 people including trailer for AUD $55.00. They are also able to help if teams have more than 5 passengers.
