Day 3 North American Continental Championships. Squamish, British Columbia, Canada

The wind was up already by 10:30 but the sun was hiding behind an overcast sky. So it was a bit cooler today. The wind was a bit up and down but had steadied a little by about noon time at around 14-16knots. So I decided to take my 10.8 for the day.

Race #6 I went for a port tack start with Jesper and Seth. Today there was a new rule where we could not cross through this imaginary line between a large bouy and the end of this rock jetty. So no more taking risks of running aground or hitting the logs in that area. I put in a couple of tacks up the inside and took the lead around windward. Sam was back in 2nd with Jesper behind him. I continued to extend my lead on each leg of the race and finished with a pretty comfortable lead. Sam settled for 2nd with Jesper in 3rd and Seth in 4th.

Race #7 I started the same once again. Only this time Sam came across from the other side and got a little bit of a lead by windward. It was enough to keep me from catching him on the downwind. Then the wind really started to pick up as we tacked up the inside. I was slowly gaining on him as he was hurting on his 11.6 in the increasing winds……….For full Day 3 report and reports from Day 1 and Day 2 check out www.devonboulon.com
