From September 15th to 19th 2004 the best windsurfers of the World will visit the village of Dranske on the island Ruegen for the second time in a row to celebrate their World Championships. This year the village will be the host of the Formula Windsurfing Youth World Championships 2004 and the Windsurfing Euro-Cup Final 2004. So on Ruegen the fight is on not only for the World title and trophies but also for ranking points for the annual ranking list of the most important competition
series in Europe. The Windsurfing Euro-Cup Final offers a total prize money of EUR 15.000,00.
In the last years Dranske has developed into one of the hottest addresses for well organized competitions in a great venue. The village is a fixed stop of the national tour German Windsurf Cup since 2002. The highlight so far was the hosting of the SCANDLINES Formula Windsurfing World Championships 2003. Now another top event is brought into the region with the Formula Windsurfing Youth
World Championships 2004 and the Windsurfing Euro-Cup Final 2004.
The Windsurf Club Ruegen e.V. is the organizer of the Formula Windsurfing Youth World Championships 2004 and the Windsurfing Euro-Cup Final 2004 with the support of the village Dranske and the co-operation of the Uni Surf Team Ruegen and the Choppy Water Eventmanagement GmbH.
