I’m here in Rhodos for the the Formula windsurfing Grand Prix competion. Due to the late scheduling of the event we only have 14 competitors registered. I’ll be keeping you updated on my site here everyday. www.devonboulon.com. It has been very windy with some very heavy gust today of about 30knots. But it is great racing conditions with excellent action close to the beach for the spectators and a good live webcam on www.rwa.gr.

This is one of the best locations for a race that I have ever been to. I arrived two days ago from my girlfriends house in Switzerland and have gotten some good training before the event.

We had one practice race today. Andrea and Jesper took it easy on the beach saving energy for tomorrows racing. With so few people on the start line it made it very easy to start. Almost eveyone went port tack with Arnon and me going starboard to the beach at the pin end. We were both a little early and I bumped Arnon as we both forced our way around the pin bouy at zero seconds. I tacked at the beach and headed straight to the layline crossing just in front of Brian and tacking to round in second with Jamie right behind. On the downwind Brian went to far and Jamie and I jibed earlier to round leeward with me in first Jamie 2nd and Brian 3rd. and that was the way i finished. It was a very short course taking us about 8-9minutes.

Practice race:

Devon WindWing/F2 1st

Jamie WindWing/Starboard 2nd

Brian NeilPryde/Starboard 3rd
