We had 2 races in the morning in very strong gusting wind coming with the clouds…
There is about 30 guys here, mostly locals but also some from Sydney and Tasmania and all keen to have some sailing done.
Steve showed great form on his new Neil Pryde 10.6 and Fanatic taking 2 wins in the morning with Jesper (Starboard/Gaastra) right on his heals. 3 rd. was young Aussie Sean O’Brian.
The fronts disappeared and the sun cleared and we had a good 3 hour break until the seabreeze was kicking in. It was a good 12-16 knots, small chop & Sun and just great for formula sailing. So they decided for 2 more races.
3 rd. race Steve and Jesper were battling all the way to the first upwind mark, Jesper tack to early and couldn’t hold up the mark. Steve laid the mark perfect and was just gone with now chance for Jesper to catch up, Steve won by miles and Jesper again 2 nd.
4 th. race, again Steve and Jesper pulled off a good start and was again battling all the way around the course. Steve again a little faster and just won by a bit…He sure shows everyone why he is the World Champ.
Tomorrow we will hopefully have a new great day on the water…
