Just finished the 7th race of the the Formula Europeans. Did 3 races today with very good conditions. The wind was much more steady and just a good consistent day. Jaimie Lever won the first race and I took second. Patrice was winning by quite a long way and fell off. Jaimie won due to an excellent layline on the second upwind.
In the second race it was a battle between Steve Allen and me and it was a good fun race. Jossleing the whole race I passed Steve on the upwind then he passed me on the downwind and then I passed him back just before the finish. We finished with a 2 second gap. Good race.
In the third race it was a battle between Steve, Ross Williams and me. Ross had excellent speed on his Gaastra 10.9 and had some nice laylines to the top mark. Around the top mark it was me then Ross then Steve. I managed to pull a pretty good lead and hung on around the course. Steve passed Ross for second and Ross had a 3rd.
“My Gaastra/Bic/Fiberspar combination was really hooking up good out there today. Had great speed but still making some bad errors around the course. Lucky I had my equipment to take me so fast otherwise I would be out the back on some of the races due to my errors. I am looking forward to another day with less errors and a chance to take the European Championship.” KP
