Again we had perfect racing on Lake Garde in front of the beautiful city of Malcesine. The Ora wind arrived a little bit ealier than yesterday and the mens fleet was send out for the race. Today was the day of the Israel racer Arnon Dagan (ISR-1/Fanatic/Neil Pryde). He had a terrible start in the regatta with “only” results of 23., 19. and DNF on the first day. Now he was first on the upwind mark and managed to keep this position for one and a half rounds to win thre race#4. He was followed closely by the Agentina hotshot Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG-3/Starboard/Neil Pryde) who took the lead in the events ranking by this success. Steve Allen (AUS-1/Fanatic) from Australia managed to come in third in front of Wojtek Brzozowski (POL-10/Starboard/Neil Pryde) from Poland. Here you have the top results of today:

Then the women’s fleet was send out for the race. The wind was already dropping again but at leasts it lasted long enough to score a valid race for the girls. This time everthing worked much better for the British competitor Lucy Horwood (GBR-95/AHD/Gaastra). On the first day she had big problems and scored “only” 4., 6. and DNF. Today she was dominating the race. On the second place followed Margit Germany (AUT-88/Starboard/Gaastra) from Austria who shows very strong and consistant results at this regatta with two third and two second places. The third place in womens race#4 went to Geraldine Jambert (F-115/Starboard/Gun Sails) who was very happy about her best result so far espescially as she was able to beat the Polish favourite Dorota Staszewska (POL-1/Starboard/Neil Pryde). After this race the wind dropped and didn’t provide suitable conditions for racing anymore. After the second day Patrice Belbeoc’h (F-81/Exocet/Neil Pryde) has lost his lead to the young Argentinian racer Gonzalo Costa Hoevel (ARG-3/Starboard/Neil Pryde). With one first and two second places he clearly takes the lead with 5 points in front of Micah Buzianis (USA-34/Mistral/NorthSails/9 points) and Patrice Belbeoc’h. In the women’s fleet Verena Fauster (ITA-31/Starboard/Gaastra) was able to keep the lead with 4 points in front of Dorota Staszewska (POL-1/Starboard/Neil Pryde/6 points) and Margit Germany (AUT-88/Starboard/Gaastra/7 points).
